Lenten Book Study
Join us on Wednesdays (3/8, 3/15, 3/22 and 3/29) on Zoom during Lent, from 7:30 to 8:30 pm, as we read "How to Begin When Your World Is Ending" by the Rev. Molly Phinney Baskette. More information on the Book Study page.
Curbside Palm Distribution
Join us for an afternoon of fellowship as we pass out Palms to passersby near First Congregational Church of Bethel. We will pass out Palms from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, April 1, 2023. Youth are invited to meet at noon for lunch and fun, as the fun continues with distributing Palms.
Maundy Thursday Service
You are invited to an evening service of Holy Communion and Tenebrae on Thursday, April 6th. We begin the service at 7 pm. All are welcome to receive Communion, no matter your tradition. We will leave the service in darkness and quiet.
Good Friday
Cross Walk
On Good Friday, April 7th, you are invited to journey through the heart of Bethel as we walk our faith and take part in the ancient practice of the Stations of the Cross. . Beginning at 12 noon at 227 Greenwood Avenue and finishing at First Congregational Church of Bethel, with a light lunch to follow.
Easter Sunrise Service
Rise early to celebrate Easter and meet our Risen Savior in the rising sun! Join us at 6:15 am, Sunday, April 9th at Putnam Park Pond. All are welcome!
Easter Service
Join us to celebrate the unconditional Love of God, as we celebrate Christ's resurrection through word, song and Holy Communion at 10 am Easter morning on Sunday, April 9th.
All are welcome to receive Communion, no matter your tradition.
FCCB Blood Drive
First Congregational Church of Bethel will hold a Blood Drive on Tuesday. May 9th from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm, in partnership with the American Red Cross.

Service of Installation
You are formally invited to the Service of Installation for the Rev. Ryan Gackenheimer as Pastor and Teacher at First Congregational Church of Bethel, UCC. This special service is for everyone; church community, community folks; ecumenical partners, Association churches, and more. Join us Sunday, March 5, 2022 at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow the service.
Ashes to Go!
Along with St. Thomas Episcopal Church, we will be offering Ashes to Go on Ash Wednesday, February 22nd from 7 to 9 am in front of Molten Java, 213 Greenwood Avenue in downtown Bethel. If you are so moved, please stop by to receive your ashes.
