Restart Notice -- Phase in Approach

In an effort to keep our members safe and healthy, our building has been closed since mid-March.  At the May Cabinet meeting, our Leadership made the decision to reopen the building for group meetings, effective May 27, 2020.  In-Person Worship Service and All Youth Group meetings remain suspended and will be resumed as conditions develop during the summer and fall.  Our next Regular Worship Service is planned for November 22, 2020.  We are still checking phone messages and getting the mail several times a week.  The best way to contact us is by emait to:

Zoe Vandermeer has been the music director, organist and pianist at First Church Bethel since August 2018.   The FCCB adult choir sings a variety of choral repertoire, from the Baroque period to Christian Contemporary selections.  Ms. Vandermeer accompanies the choir on organ, piano, and on occasion, harp.  Rehearsals are held on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. as well as rehearsals following the Sunday service.   Singers ages 14 and older are encouraged to join the FCCB Choir, or to come along and give it a try in a rehearsal.  All levels of singers are welcome.  Reading music is not required.  No audition necessary.  

Ms. Vandermeer performs nationally and internationally as an opera singer, harpist, pianist, and performing composer.  She has been on the Roster of the CT Commission on Culture and Tourism, and is a recipient of numerous awards and scholarships.  A graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Ms. Vandermeer's Carnegie Hall debut took place in 2014, and her CD 'Handel's Voice, Handel's Harp' will be released in the Fall 2019 on the Centaur Records label.  Ms. Vandermeer has been on the Voice Faculty at the Hartt School Community Division, and she teaches voice, piano, and harp at her studio.
